Deer Chili
Chili with Deer Meat
Equipment
- 1 Large Pan
- 1 Stock Pot
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Deer Meat
- 1 Deer Conecuh Sausage (Chopped)
- 1/2 lb Deer/Pork Ground Sausage
- 6 pieces Thick Cut Bacon
- 1 Yellow Onion (Diced)
- 1 large can Rotel
- 3 JalapeƱos (Diced and Without Seeds)
- 1 large can Diced Tomatoes
- 1 large can Bush's Chili Beans
- 1 can Water from Bush's Chili Beans Can
- 2 15 oz cans Mixed Chili Beans
- 1 tbsp Beef Bullion
- Homemade Chili Seasoning
- 1 can Tomato Paste
- 2 tbsp Corn Starch
Homemade Chili Seasoning
- 8 tspn Chili Powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Onion Powder
- 2 1/2 tspns Cumin
- 1/2 tspn Black Pepper
Instructions
- Start by adding ground deer meat, deer conecuh, deer/pork sausage, and diced onions to a pan. Let simmer and cook through.
- After this is finished, fry bacon in the same pan. Cook until crispy and break the bacon off into pieces/bits.
- Once all meat and onions are cooked, add to stock pot. Add in (do not drain canned goods) Rotel, jalapeƱos, diced tomatoes, Bush's Chili Beans, Water from Bush's can, and cans of mixed chili beans. Stir.
- Add in homemade chili seasoning, beef bullion and tomato paste. Stir.
- Let simmer for 45-50 minutes. Add in corn starch to thicken soup. Use a whisk to break down the starch.
- Serve by pouring chili over macaroni and cheese. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, or whatever you might enjoy!

This is originally my sister’s classic chili recipe. I added my own touches using deer meat, bacon, and changing up a few other things! Thanks to her for my starter!
